Candidate Statement
Candidate Prompt:
Please tell us why you wish to serve in this office. You may include actions you wish to promote, or anything you would like members to know. Limit 500 words.
As a former multi-state MSP founder I know firsthand how varied the service levels and training are from ITSP to ITSP. The mission of the NSITSP resonates strongly with me because I want ITSPs around the world to be thought of like any other professional like doctors and lawyers. Having a focus of not just technical training will help leaders run their businesses and manage their staff and clients.
The focus of the Professional Development committee is to help provide standards of training, non-technical, to leaders in the space that they may or may not have access to, or even be aware of. I am currently serving as the Secretary of the committee and would be honored to be elected into the committee for the next two years.
Relevant Experience
Candidate Prompt:
Please describe your relevant experience – what you bring to the office. Limit 500 words.
I have owned two companies. One of which I sold. I have a masters degree in management and organizational behavior and held MCT, MCSE, and MCNE and MCNI certifications from the beloved and defunct Novell. I have consulted for decades to help entrepreneurs start and grow their business often having to train them on basic business skills, leadership, communication, ethics, marketing and more. I love teaching and designing programs using real life situations.
I’ve keynoted conferences and written books and articles on growing and selling businesses. As a result of my four decades plus in the business world I have a perspective that I believe can assist on this committee to develop useful and meaningful outcomes.
