I believe that one of the most important things that needs to be done by this organization is that the voice small MSPs needs to be heard by those that are going to make the regulations that will affect this industry.
Those that are familiar with how government works need to help those who don’t understand how the government is going to affect them. We also need to show how individuals can influence the decisions made by government.
Relevant Experience
Candidate Prompt:
Please describe your relevant experience – what you bring to the office. Limit 500 words.
I have been a member of the NSITSP Legislative Committee since the beginning. While being an active member of the committee, I created a video for How to Meet a Legislator, I created a draft of a 3-fold handout explaining NSITSP for non-IT individuals and I have been actively involved with the creation of model legislation for registering IT Professionals. On multiple occasions I ran various Legislative Committee meetings when others were unable.
Prior to that I lead the Chicago IT Pro Users Group for over 10 years. Proceeding running the user group, I lead the sole political party in my village for 10 years. Many years prior to that, I was involved in community organizing in the North Lakeshore area of the City of Chicago and was being pushed to become a candidate for alderman when I decided on focusing on IT instead of politics.
