Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the highest leadership body of the organization. They are responsible for executing all the duties defined in the organization by-laws, either directly or through delegation to various committees and the executive director.

Objectives

Ensure pursuit and fulfillment of the mission and purposes of the organization

Select, direct, and oversight of the executive director

Provide strategic and organizational direction

Ensure fiduciary oversight and financial management

Enhance the organization’s public image

Deliverables / Outputs

Dedicate about 3-5 hours per month to NSITSP activities and meetings

Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization

Work to fulfill the organization’s mission

Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings

Participate on one or more committees

Critical Success factors

Open, honest, and active participation in board communications

Fully engage in monthly board meetings and related ad hoc committees of the board

Board members must be active public advocates for the NSITSP
