Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development Committee shall assist the Board of Directors in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to professional and non-technical development and training of member organizations and their employees consistent with the association’s mission to professionalize the industry. The Professional Development Committee shall create and maintain standards and an approved continuing education units (CEU) database for professional development for both organizations and employee members.

Objectives

Define a program for continuing education for the IT Service Provider industry.

Define a program for designating approved education providers.

Define a program for designating approved CEU programs (classes, seminars, etc.).

Deliverables / Outputs

The Professional Development Committee will develop a program for awarding Continuing Education Units. This will involve:

a. Setting criteria for education providers that wish to be acknowledged as providers of continuing education classes and programs for NSITSP members.

b. Determining vetting processes and fees for these continuing education providers. This may include discussions and collaboration with these providers.

c. Determining the mechanisms for verifying CEU hours completed, tracking, etc.

d. Working with the Executive Director’s office for implementation and tactics.

e. Report to the Board on all activities and seek approval for essential changes to the CEU program going forward.

f. Recertification process/feedback loop for both vendor and participant.

g. Maintenance standards and processes for approved programs.

Participation by education providers and interested members.

NSITSP's reputation must be considered relevant to the industry's future.
