An Open Memo to the Candidates . . .
To: All Candidates for Office for NSITSP
cc: Nicole Singleton Norman, Executive Director
Thank you for filing to serve the National Society of IT Service Providers! Having a strong membership willing to volunteer their time is critical to this (or any other) member-run organization.
Here’s what’s next:
Campaign “Season” begins now and runs through September 12th.
During this time, please go through this super-quick checklist. This is important for the organization as well as your personal candidacy.
- Make sure your election profile has a headshot
- Fill out election profile so it looks complete. For example, add your LinkedIn and
other social media links - Promote your campaign on your social media. In other words, run for office –
even if you don’t have an opponent. This is good for P.R. with your clients and
prospects, and raises the visibility of the National Society. - Campaign among members to ask for their vote. We are a small organization
and sometimes the elections are won with a very small number of votes.
Some committees have more candidates than openings (as it should be). Do not take your election for granted. Campaign!
Voting takes place online September 13 – 23.
We ask that you don’t forget to vote for yourself – and encourage everyone else to vote! Again, the more public everyone is with this, the bigger splash we’ll make on the social media scene.
Beginning immediately, you are encouraged to attend the board or committee you wish to serve on. Most of you are members of committees already. Please feel very welcome to attend some or all NSITSP meetings. You can find the calendar at https://nsitsp.org/events/.
Thanks again for running and serving the NSITSP. You are truly the heart of this young and growing organization.
Good luck in the upcoming election!
