    Candidate Statement

    Candidate Prompt:
Please tell us why you wish to serve in this office. You may include actions you wish to promote, or anything you would like members to know. Limit 500 words.

I am passionate about elevating the IT service industry to a recognized profession, and I believe that serving on the legislative committee of the National Society of IT Service Providers (NSITSP) will provide me with a platform to impact meaningful change. The NSITSP’s mission resonates with me – transforming our industry into a profession, establishing high standards, ethics, and improving the perception and credibility of the IT profession.

In this role, I am committed to helping to draft legislation that not only protects IT service providers but also ensures that our clients can trust and rely on our services. I also wish to promote education and professionalism, ensuring that IT consultants, especially who serve small and medium businesses, have the resources and knowledge to provide top-tier services.

Furthermore, I plan to work with elected officials in my state and advise my colleagues on doing the same in their states. I hope to carry forward legislation that safeguards our industry and our clients.

I want the members to know that my commitment to this role is not just professional but personal. I believe in the power of collective action, and together, we can shape the future of the IT service industry.

    Relevant Experience

    Candidate Prompt:
Please describe your relevant experience – what you bring to the office. Limit 500 words.

In 1998 I founded Amnet, an MSP in Colorado.  Aside from my 25+ years in the IT industry, I have also been engaged in politics in Colorado.

My tenure as the Chairman of the El Paso County Republican Party has equipped me with invaluable experience and insights into the intricacies of political leadership and legislative processes. This role not only honed my skills in strategic planning, communication, and advocacy but also deepened my understanding of the challenges and opportunities within our political landscape.

One of the most significant assets I bring to the office is my extensive network of relationships within the state legislature of Colorado. Over the years, I have cultivated strong personal connections with several elected officials. These relationships are built on mutual respect and trust, and I am confident in my ability to leverage these connections to facilitate meaningful dialogues and collaborations.

Furthermore, my experience as Chairman has provided me with a firsthand understanding of the importance of bipartisan cooperation. I have successfully navigated complex political scenarios, fostering unity and driving consensus on contentious issues. This ability to bridge divides and find common ground will be instrumental in advancing the legislative goals of the National Society of IT Service Providers.

Additionally, my leadership in the El Paso County Republican Party has given me a platform to engage with diverse stakeholders, from grassroots activists to high-ranking officials. This has sharpened my skills in negotiation, persuasion, and public speaking, all of which are crucial for effective legislative advocacy.

In summary, I bring to the office a rich blend of political acumen, established relationships, and a proven track record of leadership. I am committed to harnessing these assets to champion the interests of the IT service industry and ensure that our legislative objectives are realized in Colorado.
