Qualifications to Run
Must be an NSITSP Professional Member in good standing
A Candidate for office must be a NSITSP member in good standing. If/as additional categories of membership (i.e. associate, vendor, etc.) are created, the Board will decide what category[ies] of membership qualify to stand for election to either Committees (as a whole or individual committees based on need) and to the Board.
Board Member Candidates
To run for a position on the Board, a member must meet the requirements of the corporation and its Bylaws.
Can only run for a single position
No individual can stand for election to more than one position on the ballot (i.e. can’t run for both a committee and a Board position or a second committee). No individual can occupy more than one position in the organization simultaneously.
Must complete all requirements
No individual will be considered for inclusion on the ballot who has not personally completed the required Declaration of Candidacy, Conflict of Interest Statement, and Candidate Campaign Information Form.
Procedures
Two-Year Term Limits
For the first elections (2022), the top 4 vote-getters were elected for a two-year term. The remaining seats will serve a 1-year term. In future elections, all appointees will serve a 2-year term.
For the second elections (2023), all 1-year seats are up for election.
Transition Timeline
The timeline as proposed allows for a transition period where newly-elected Board can “attend” meetings with outgoing members, and the newly-populated Board/Committees would be seated October 1st.
Anonymous Ballots
Balloting will be electronic via the NSITSP website and while having the ability to track that a member did or did not vote, will not have the capability of tracking how any member voted. Preliminary voting tally’s will not be reported at any time prior to the closing of the election period.
Are you the member we're looking for?
In this first voting year, seats are available across the Board of Directs and all Committees
